Strength Grading

Our graded timber is machine strength graded by an MPC Micromatic Strength Grader. The grading is carried out post kilning to allow identification and removal of any pieces, which have deteriorated, in the kilning process. Passes are clearly marked with a large ink jet printer so the grade stamp can always be read. Our standard grade is C16 under the European Grading standard BS EN 519 and our timber is therefore fully compatible with current building regulations and can be used in designs to BS 5268 and Eurocode 5.

BM TRADA independently audits quality control in our grading system to the standard ISO 9002 Part 2.
